More than 1 in 20 Newcastle, West Ham and Spurs followers gave up their tickets regardless of price changes – although it should be pointed out that some fans leave each year for a variety of reasons regardless of the economic climate. One in four fans have already saved to buy next year’s season ticket, which can cost over a £1,000 in the Premiership, while 38 per cent are forced to make serious financial sacrifices to afford their seat.
