West Ham could ground share with Spurs

West Ham might be prepared to allow Tottenham Hotspur to share the Olympic Stadium while White Hart Lane is being redeveloped.   At first it was thought that this would not be possible because the clubs were rivals for the tenancy.

West Ham would not be prepared to share the stadium in their first year there in 2016-17.  However, they might be prepared to allow Spurs to rent the stadium in 2017-18.

Spurs fans had favoured going to Wembley for their season away from the Lane, but the FA has told them that will not be possible because of existing commitments and their plans to attract an American football franchise to the stadium.

The Tottenham Supporters’ Trust was unhappy about the idea of a move to Milton Keynes.   They have complained about its distance from London and the 22,000 capacity of stadium.mk being lower than the number of season ticket holders at White Hart Lane.

The club still needs to secure one piece of land for its stadium project but Archway Metals, a family-run business, has appealed against a compulsory purchase order on its property in Paxton Road.
