Spurs back in profit

The contribution of the Champions Leage to club finances is underlined by the way in which participation has pushed Spurs back into profit.  The club made pre-tax profits of £4.2m in the last six months of 2010, up from a loss of £8.3m over the same period the previous year.  Turnover was up 49 per cent to £79m.

Operating expenses were up from £48.6m to £61.5m due largely to the costs associated with having a bigger squad.   Chairman Daniel Levy has indicated that some streamlining will be necessary.


Merchandise sales increased by 22 per cent and sponsorship and corporate hospitality revenue grew from £12.7m to £16m.
