Lewisham Council were under increasing pressure after a campaign against what was in effect a gentrification project gained momentum. It reduces the likelihood of similar threats to other clubs.

Speaking on Radio 5 this morning, Millwall chief executive Steve Kavanagh said that the threatened CPO had taken up a considerable amount of management time. The club had also run up a considerable legal bill as it sought advice on freedom of information requests.
