Investors focus on lower leagues

Global investors are increasingly focusing on Leagues 1 and 2 as they seek investment opportunities in football, according to the latest annual survey of football finance directors by accountants BDO.

Another consideration may be that many of the Premiership and Championship clubs have already been snapped up and those that are left may be for sale at inflated prices.   It may be a better strategy to acquire a League One or League Two club at a much lower price and use the money to build it up.   Charlton supporters wish that would happen at The Valley!

The survey reveals that 88 per cent of Premiership clubs expect to make a profit this year.
