What would be an important factor fans was whether there was an athletics track, as they like to be as close to the players as possible.   However, in principle it might be possible to put retractable seats across the track.

However, former London mayor Ken Livingstone has dealt the plan a blow, arguing that there is a cast iron contract between the Mayor of London and the Olympics requiring that it be used after the games as an athletics stadium.   Ken did say that it could be used by a second or third division team and it will be recalled that there was talk of Leyton Orient playing there, although their fans would be lost in the size of the stadium.
