Birmingham City get all clear for Europe

Birmingham City have been given the all clear to participate in the Europa League next season.  Concerns had been expressed about the state of the club’s finances after it was announced that they had debts of £27m, but Uefa are satisfied that everything is in order.

Birmingham owner Carson Yeung recently reduced his stake in the club by 1.6 per cent, raising £3.63m by selling shares to private investors with no connection with the club.   The Hong Kong businessman now owns 23.6 per cent of the shares at the club.
