Argyle go into administration

As expected the High Court has placed Plymouth Argyle in administration.  A Plymouth director is understood to have applied for a stay of the administration process so that the club could be sold as a solvent entity but the application was not accepted by the judge.   There will be no further points penalty as that has already been incurred.

One of the administrators is Brendan Guilfoyle who successfully handled the administration process at Crystal Palace.   However, the position is so serious at Argyle that there are fears that the administrator will not have enough assets to sell to generate working capital.   If that proved to be the case, and a buyer could not be found, it would mean the end of the club.
