Turnover was down by £50,000, reflecting a year spent in the Conference North. Season ticket sales took a particularly big hit during that season, down from £95,000 to £54,000. Commercial income was down by £35,000 to £101,000. This represents one eighth of turnover and it is interesting to compare this figure in absolute and relative terms with the likes of Manchester United,.
The club is very careful to only spend funds that they have, having experienced predecessors Telford United going into liquidation in 2004. However, there is a tension between that sensible approach and success on the pitch. The club is currently rooted at the bottom of the Conference Premier and faces the risk of a return to the Conference North.
