Shevchenko’s transfer to Chelsea in 2006-7 tops the list at £137m, followed closely by Wayne Rooney’s move to Manchester United in 2004-5 at £136m.   The top six inward moves involve Chelsea and Manchester United.

We haven’t seen the £100m player yet because the global super stars are tied up at elite clubs and Chinese clubs are now having to pay a tax on foreign players which effectively doubles their cost.
