What is your club worth?

This blog first saw the light of day in its original form in the late 1990s.   Then it was one of the first sites to deal with the subject of the interaction between economics, finance, politics and football.   Since then many new sites have appeared.    Competition is always healthy and many of the sites offer in depth analysis of the finances of clubs or of football in general.

We are therefore pleased to recommend a post by Sporting Intelligence which looks at what a club is really worth.  There is a big range in the Barclays Premier League from the £42.8m estimated value of Wigan Athletic to the one club worth over £1 billion (and probably more if sold), Manchester United. Interestingly, Arsenal are just behind United on £942.9m with Chelsea some way behind in third place.
