In season 2002-03 there was also a small pot of money on offer in the ‘Fair Play League’ where points were awarded to each
top-flight club for ‘positive play’, ‘respect towards opponents’ and
‘respect towards referees’ – £30,000 was awarded to the club
finishing the season at the top. In addition, a further £20,000 went to the
club whose supporters were deemed to be the best behaved.
