Gloucester City feel let down after being told by council planners to go back to the drawing board over their plans to rebuild their stadium. Their Meadow Park home was badly flooded in 2007 and since then they have played at Forest Green Rovers, Cirencester Town and Cheltenham Town.
Gloucester City feel let down after being told by council planners to go back to the drawing board over their plans to rebuild their stadium. Their Meadow Park home was badly flooded in 2007 and since then they have played at Forest Green Rovers, Cirencester Town and Cheltenham Town.
The plans included raising the pitch by 3ft from its existing level and building a flood defence bank. However, the council said that further flood risk assessments were needed before approval of the plans culd be resolved. Such a report, plus 2D models of the proposed works, could cost between £50,000 and £100,000. City have already spent more than £350,000 on the project.
The club had originally hoped that the new stadiun would be open for the start of the 2014-15 season. New investment is thought to depend on signs of progress.
