Meanwhile, the club’s Supporters’ Trust have asked for clarification on the planned takeover by Gaming International.   The Gulls announced in March that a memorandum of understanding had been signed and due diligence had started.

However, supporters feel that the prolonged period of uncertainty is damaging the club’s prospects. They are calling for matters to be cleared up at the annual general meeting on July 11.

The Supporters’ Trust want to know if the Gaming International deal is dead, and if is, whether there is an alternative investment deal on the table.

The Gulls have had rocky finances in recent years.   Attendances are not large given the size of the town and the surrounding area.   However, the presence of a large elderly population, many of them incomers, does not help.   If they are football fans, they may have allegiances elsewhere or not be tempted by Conference football.
