For a variety of reasons, mainly poor decision-making at Bristol Rovers, a gap has opened up between City and Rovers in recent years. Indeed, City now form part of a larger entity called ‘Bristol Sport’. However, rather than pushing on to the Premier League, promoted City are engaged in a relegation battle in the Championship.
The writer makes an interesting comparison with Cardiff which is the capital of a devolved administration. However, he thinks it has more to do with people getting on and doing things in Cardiff.
