The Football Association are looking for new sponsors for the FA Cup and it isn’t proving all that easy which is not that surprising when you consider the state of the economy.   Companies dealing with the individual consumer are most likely to be interested, but consumer confidence is flat as incomes are squeezed.

The deal with E.On was extended for one year at what is thought to have been a cut rate price of £7m.  It is doubtful whether any new sponsor will be willing to pay the £10m a year that E.On agreed to in their original three year contract.


The prize money for winning a round can be a lifeline for non-league clubs and even for lower league clubs.
