This would jeopardise the chances of the Sky Blues staying at the Ricoh and might create problems with the Football League. Sisu are unlikely to start talks with Coventry City Council while they are still pursuing legal action against them and may have missed the boat, although they still insist they want to build a new ground elsewhere in the city. Admittedly, there are no signs of any progress being made on the proposed new stadium.
Fans had hoped that if Sisu had got control of the stadium, this might have hastened their exit from the club as they would then have an asset to sell. Interest in acquiing a League One club is limited. Of course, the Sky Blues have had plenty of missed opportunities to acquire a stake in the stadium over the years.
