Royals confident of Premiership green light

Reading FC’s chief executive Ron Gourlay is confident that the club’s majority Chinese owners will be approved by the Premier League as fit and proper persons should the Royals be promoted.

Reading FC’s chief executive Ron Gourlay is confident that the club’s majority Chinese owners will be approved by the Premier League as fit and proper persons should the Royals be promoted.

Four Four Two magazine asked their fan commentator, ‘Do you think the club is in safe hands with the new owners?’  His response was, ‘Only time will tell.  Initial signs are promising, but we have been bitten before.’

There were earlier concerns arising from an unsuccessfui bid for Hull City.   Arguably there are challenges to overcome on the pitch if promotion is to be secured with Reading currently in 16th place in the Championship.  Last Saturday’s home defeat by Bristol City saw Royals players miss a number of chances to score.  They could end up being the ‘nearly men’ of the competition.

The club is considering selling naming rights to the Madejski Stadium.
