QPR to defend writ

Queens Park Rangers are facing a battle in the High Court after being served with a writ for £750,000. Carlos Dunga, the former Brazil captain and manager, claims that he lent the club a sum of money from 2005 to 2007 when the club had previous ownership.

Queens Park Rangers are facing a battle in the High Court after being served with a writ for £750,000. Carlos Dunga, the former Brazil captain and manager, claims that he lent the club a sum of money from 2005 to 2007 when the club had previous ownership.

There is some confusion about the exact amount being claimed as The Times states that it is £1m plus interest making a total of £1.5m.   If the interest amounted to £500,000 over the period, a very high rate must be being claimed.

The Super Hoops had said that they will defend the proceedings, although often such matters are settled out of court.   Dunga said, ‘I must rely on the English courts to see justice being done.’
