Despite finishing runners up in La Liga and failing to reach the quarter finals of the Champions League, revenues were up by 8.6 per cent to €442.3m. The club’s net debt fell 25.1 per cent to €244.6m. The club has benefitted from a sharp jump in earnings from television rights. It is also one of the few football clubs that can claim to be a genuinely global brand.
