Pilgrims survive winding up order

For the second time this year, Plymouth Argyle has survived a winding up petition from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs in the High Court on Wednesday.  The tax authorities asked for it to be dismissed, presumably a sign that it had been paid.

Argyle have three players on international duty for tomorrow’s match against Charlton and could have asked for the match to be postponed.   However, such is the cash flow position at Home Park, the directors wanted it to go ahead.   Had it been postponed, it would have been played mid-week which would have depressed the attendance.
