Nimby threat to FC United plans

FC United are working to overcome any opposition from ‘Nimbys’ opposed to their proposed new stadium in Moston.   Residents in a neighbourhood are always uncertain about a new football stadium because of concern about the possible effect on house prices and parking problems.  Certainly the local impact of the proposed 5,000 seater stadium would not be trivial.

However, FC United are holding consultation meetings to overcome these fears.   Some local residents are appreciative of the work they do with children.   Others think that a £3.5m investment is just what the area needs.    However, opponents have pointed out that the proposed stadium will be built on a greenfield site which was gifted under a covenant that barred development.
