Kidderminster Harriers have signed a new shirt deal with tool hire firm Hire-It! based on the Worcester Road. The firm will replace OGL Computer on the front of the shirt until the end of the 2013-14 season after a five figure deal was secured.

Hire-It! already sponsor one of the stands at Aggborough and their John Davies represents fans trust Kidderminster Harriers Independent Supporters Trust as director on the club’s board. The firm had already sponsored the shirts in 2004-8, although on that occasion it sponsored both the front and the back so the hunt is on for a sponsor for the back of the shirt. Davies will also give the club £2 for every shirt sold.
Kiddy went through a difficult period financially and it is always difficult operating in the shadow of the Black Country clubs and those in Birmingham. For many local residents, Kidderminster Harriers must be their second club as is the case at my own non-league club, Leamington.
However, although they just missed out on the Conference play offs, the mood at the club is optimstic. They seem to have made some smart signings. Anthony Malbon, who won the goal of the season competition, was brought in from Newcastle Town in January.
Another player brought in from lower down the pyramid was Leamington keeper Tony Breeden. He had an enthusiastic following at the Brakes because of his habit of coming out of goal and playing up the wing which seemed to completely unsettle opposing teams. Indeed, on one occasion he scored.
He has probably been more cautious at a higher level, but seems to have been the first choice keeper and to have got some good ratings from The Non-League Paper.
