Millwall may be forced to quit their historic home in New Cross.   It looks as if Lewisham Council will approve a compulsory purchase order on land around the New Den next week.   This is needed for a so-called ‘regeneration’ project involving a mystery offshore developer with links with Lewisham Council.

North Kent is one possible location for a new ground.   However, that would eat into Gillingham’s support base, while Charlton also have many supporters who have moved out to North Kent, prarticularly the Isle of Thanet.   Indeed, the club’s fanzine is produced from Ramsgate.

Developers may next target Charlton’s stadiim at The Valley which has a big footprint.
