Merthyr Tydfil fans have launched a last-minute appeal to save thier club.  The Martyrs have been in administration since last June.   They want supporters to loan fans’ group Martyrs to the Cause £100 each to launch a bid to buy back the club before a March 26 deadline set by administrator Mark Bowen.

If the bid fails the lease of Penydarren Park is likely to revert to the bank as one of the major creditors.  When they went into administration the club had accumulated more than £600,000 of debt.  Wyn Holloway saved the club from administration ten years ago, but the debt built up again during his tenure.
