The new structure will yield an additional £2m a year for the club.  However, its wages to turnover ratio fell to 52 per cent in the latest accounts, close to the recommended figure.   Increased hospitality revenues are supposed to pay for the stadium redevelopment.

The club points out that 64 per cent of season ticket prices have fallen or been frozen.   However, the decreases have been on the small side, while some of the increases have been substantial.   There will be a £1,000 season ticket for the first time.

Anfield will continue to be sold out next season, but there are concerns that it may not be affordable for some fans.  It is argued that an opportunity to provide fair ticket prices has been missed with the new television revenues.
