It all kicks off at Kiddy

Administration is a real threat at Conference outfit at Kidderminster Harriers, but meanwhile a power struggle for control has broken out between former members of the board and those currently in charge.   The club could also face a points penalty if they are found to have broken Conference rules on financial reporting at a hearing next week.

There is a £150,000 gap in the club’s finances.  The money is needed to pay wages and general bills, but also two months’ arrears of PAYE, VAT and National Insurance.   Once again it looks as if a club has been using payments to the tax authorities as a substitute for a credit card.   Acting chairman Dave Reynolds has admitted that the club needs significant investment to avoid a Company Voluntary Arrangement which would see it deducted 10 points in the Blue Square Bet Premier.

Former chairman Barry Norgrove and Neil Savery have supported a bid by businessman and property developer Chris Swan to buy the club.   Swan comes from across the county border in Warwickshire.   He is involved in the re-development of the Old Post Office in Warwick which is a prime location in the historic heart of the county town.  The ex-board members are willing to pledge their shares in majority shareholder Aggborough Holdings to the prospective owner.
