Hereford United are at risk of being thrown out of the Football Conference.   They did submit a budget for next season, but the league is insisting on compelling evidence that they can meet their obligations and pay football creditors.

The club has total debts of £225,000.  Players and staff are awaiting their last two months’ salaries and other clubs require payment for loan players.   Tomorrow they face a winding up order in the High Court after former manager Martin Foyle issued a petition against them.   It is hoped that the case can be adjourned, but HM Revenue & Customs has also initiated a winding up petition.

There is uncertainty about the ownership of the club with chairman David Keyte claiming that negotiations with new investors have been at an advanced stage for a while.
