The latest version of the popular game Football Manager has been adjusted to take account of the possible consequences of Brexit.   Three main alternative scenarios have been built into the game.

A hard Brexit would see players subject to the same work permit rules as non-EU players which operates on a points based system.   150 players currently in the Premier League and Scottish Premier League would not qualify, creating more places for British players.   However, the overall quality would drop which could affect the international appeal of the Premier League.

In the hardest version of all, players already in the UK would be subject to work permit rules.  One scenario sees Scotland breaking away from the UK and remaining in the EU, allowing it to attract Premier League player.

One commentator has suggested that the makers of Football Manager have a better grip on reality than our political class.  Certainly, in this case it is clear that Brexit means Brexit.
