Conducting negotiations over the festive period has not been easy, complicated by the bad weather.  But negotiations are now at a very advanced stage according to consortium front man and former Charlton chief executive Peter Varney.  Given complexities in asset ownership at the club, there are a few things to be ironed out but those involved are working round the clock.
