Council boss makes bid to keep Sky Blues in city

Time is running out for the Sky Blues to continue playing in Coventry, but city council leader Ann Lucas has made a ‘woman to woman’ appeal to hedge fund boss Joy Sippala for talks to sort the situation out.

Relations between Sisu and Coventry City Council have been strained to say the least, although Lucas is a relatively new leader.   However, it appears that Sisu were offended by her not turning up at recent last dich negotiations.

It seems unlikely that Arena Coventry Limited, the operators of the Ricoh Arena, will sign the proposed company voluntary arrangement today.   The Sky Blues could then go into liquidation, but as long as the Football League transfers the golden share Sisu company Otium would remain in charge.
