We have heard that many times before. but the emergence of a rival bidder may concentrate minds. Preston Haskell, an American tycoon who made a fortune out of property in Moscow, has offered Ken Bates an alternative to the £50m deal proposed by GFH.
Haskell told The Times that he regarded Leeds ‘as an incredible brand that offers a great entreprenurial opportunity to take it back to the level which I saw in its glory days.’
Haskell is a citizen of St. Kitts & Nevis, where Outro Limited, the investment vehicle that has owned Leeds United since April 2011, is based.
