Businessman’s plan to get Coventry City back home

A Coventry-born businessman now based in the United States has come up with a plan to get Coventry City playing at the Ricoh Arena again.   His idea is to strike a deal with Arena Coventry Limited to rent the Ricoh to the club.   The money would be raised by a crowd funding scheme involving fans.

His activities online already appear to have been the target of guerilla activities by a group of Coventry fans.   If I was a Sky Blues fan, I would be suspicious of this proposal.  He doesn’t appear to have any real experience in crowd funding which demands specialised knowledge.   Jan Mokryzcki of the Sky Blue Trust commented, ‘It does seem a bit of a scheme written on the back of a fag packet.’
