Attendances have fallen by over twenty per cent this season as they have struggled in League 1 and some players are apparently playing for free.  The club is operating under a transfer embargo.

I remember some years ago ‘buying’ a seat at Bury for £10 in response to an appeal.   It is quite challenging for clubs in the Manchester conurbation when you are seeking to compete with what are currently the two top sides in the Premiership.

Bury have played at Gigg Lane since their formation in 1885.   They joined the second division of the Football League in 1894 and were promoted in their first season.
