The debt related to the time local builder Chek Whyte owned the 116-year old club. The problems were clearly more extensive than manager Kevin Wilson realised as he had been hoping the club would go into administration. He was operating on a playing budget of £150,000.
The club is taking comfort from the fact that Hyde survived in similar circumstances last year. Certainly, there is a wish in the community to see the club continue.
