Lord Ashctoft, who owns 44 per cent of Watford Leisure, saved the club from administration with an emergency £6.5m loan in 2009 and has been trying to find new investors ever since.   A 30 per cent stake is owned by the Russo brothers who fell out with Lord Ashcroft and tried to push the business into administration.
