A group of fans is planning a phoenix club to be called AFC Rushden and Diamonds.  They hope to play next season as a Under-18 side in the Northants Senior Youth Football League with the aim of gaining entry to the United Counties League in 2012-13.

They could play at the Kiln Park home of Raunds Town, the Dog and Duck Ground of Wellingborough Town or Rushden and Higham United’s ground at Hayden Road.   This was the former home of Rushden Town who millionaire benefactor Max Griggs merged with Irthlingborough Diamonds in 1992.
