Stats & Data

Rotherham United Football Club Limited

The club was founded in 1870 and plays at the Millmoor ground (capacity 7,902). Early in 2006 it was announced that the club was losing £140,000 per month. Since Rotherham did not own their ground (Ken Booth took ownership of Millmoor in return for clearing £3m of debt), and had no tangible assets, administration was not a viable option for them, as it had been for other clubs. Only an intervention by a consortium of local businessmen offering substantial investment and a new business plan averted a possible dissolution of the club (with Dennis Coleman taking over as chairman), although at the cost of a ten-point penalty applied by the FA when starting season 2006/07.
