Founded in 1921 the club is based at Lyngby Stadion in the suburbs of Copenhagen. Previously known as Lyngby FC this entity went bankrupt in 2001 and they were relegated to the amateur Danmarksserien league, just below the top three Danish pro leagues. By season 2005/06 they had forced their way back into the Danish second flight – Viasat Sport 1, and by 2007/08 into the top league (SAS Ligaen) only to be relegated after one year. The club’s honours include 2 Danish League Championships and 3 Danish Cups (Landspokalturneringen).
