Bolton Wanderers Football and Athletic Company

Bolton was a founder member of the Football League and a successful cup side in the 1920s, winning the FA Cup three times. The club won the cup a fourth time in 1958. In 2005–06 they participated in European competition for the first time, reaching the last 32 of the UEFA Cup, also qualifying for the 2007–08 tournament.

Bolton Wanderers moved to the Reebok Stadium in 1997 (capacity: 28,723). Their former home was Burnden Park, where they played for 102 years before relocation.

The club de-listed from the London Stock Exchange in 2003 (listed as Burnden Leisure plc) when Isle of Man-based businessman Eddie Davies took control of Bolton by increasing his shareholding in the parent company from 29.7% to 94.5% in 2003.
