"If you want some accessible but informative insight into football then I suggest you couldn't do better than the Political Economy of Football website, which is not only intelligible but comes with the added bonus of being written by Addicks fan Wyn Grant."
Ben Hayes - Charlton Athletic programme

The club was founded in 1906 and play at the Roots Hall ground (capacity 12,306). The future of this location had been in doubt since it was sold to property developers in 1998. Planning permission has been granted for a new 22,000 seater stadium to be located near to the team's training ground at Fossetts Farm and Southend FC hope to move in at the start of the 2010–11 season.
