A takeover bid for Coventry City FC has degenerated into a war of words between the parties involved. A bid by former vice-chairman Garry Hoffman to buy the club has stalled.

Talks between Hoffman’s group and the Coventry board were held on Friday at a secret Midlands location.  However, to the disappointment of City chairman Ken Duliei, Hoffman’s principal investors were not present.   Their identity was not revealed and this led to a row at the meeting.

No formal offer was made, the previous indicative offer of one pound for the club being regarded by the board as totally unacceptable.  Should an offer be made, it is understood that it would include a share in the Ricoh stadium the lack of which has been a constant problem for the Sky Blues.
