Birmingham City FC was founded in 1875 as Small Heath Alliance, becoming Birmingham City F.C. in 1943. The team plays at the St Andrew's ground which has been their home since 1906. The club's company shares are traded on the (Alternative Investment Market BMC) - since March 1997. The club was taken over by Hong Kong-based Carson Yeung in October 2009.
