Vale Park home for Sky Blues?

Port Vale’s ground is the latest alternative home to emerge for Coventry City should they leave the Ricoh Arena.    Vale Park is 70 miles from Coventry, although accessible via the M6. Vale chief executive Norman Smurthwaite was born and grew up in Coventry and is prepared to offer a ground share until the end of the season on a pay-to-play basis.   However, the offer would not apply next season as Smurthwaite claims that then ‘we’ll be playing them in League One.’

Talks are continuing between ACL, Coventry’s landlords, and the club.  What is going on is a game of bluff.   It is in the interests of both parties to win a settlement which they probably will do at the elevength hour.
