Recent talks with potential foreign commercial sponsors has sparked a discussion about whether Swansea City should accept significant foreign investment.

The Swans have managed so far without large-scale foreign investment and are currently 5th in the Premier League.  Their model is treasured by their own fans and admired by fans elsewhere.

However, now in their fourth season in the Premier League, can they sustain their success and compete for a European place without such investors?  At the moment they are largely reliant on television money and transfer fees.

They can, of course, look down the coast to rivals Cardiff City and see a negative example of such investment.   However, having the right sort of investor with a minority stake might be an option worth considering.
