The Pozzo family headed by Giampaolo Pozzo are poised to buy Watford FC even if the deal is yet to be signed off.   It is said that the Italians will invest £15m in the club, but not all Hornets fans are happy about the move.

The family already owns Udinese and in 2009 they bought Spanish club Granada, using the club to farm out young talent from the Italian side.   The outcome has been positive for Granada who won promotion to La Liga 12 months ago and narrowly managed to hold on to their place after a relegation battle.

However, the Watford Supporters’ Trust has urged the prospective owners not to use the Hornets as a platform to give experience to Italian youngsters.  In a statement the Trust said that if loan players ‘have to be played under instructions from the owner, who currently sees Udinese as the focus of his operations, then this would be bad and we would simply become a nursery club for Udinese.’
