Hull plan to slash wage bill

Hull City plan to slash their wage bill by £22m to avoid going into administration.  The rest of their shortfall would be made up by a fire sale of players.  However, that it is not going to be straightforward.  Jimmy Bullard is on £45,000 a week and has three years of his contract left, but his knees are uninsurable and he would probably fail a medical.

The signs are not good with Revenue and Customs owed money.   The 12,500 Hull fans who renewed their season tickets may not have helped as much as they thought as some of the money has been paid to the club already as part of an up front ticket deal.   If the club does enter a CVA, the Premier League may take money away from them to settle football debts first.
