Manchester United remain the leading team in terms of support, but levels of support seem quite vulnerable to relative success or failure. Chelsea out distance them in the impoverished state of West Virginia and the gritty state of New Jersey. Both these states still have concentrations of blue collar workers.
Somewhat surprisingly, Manchester City are ahead in the small state of Rhode Island. This result could just be down to sample fluctuations when dealing with small numbers. The state is home to one of American’s leading universities, Brown.
