Former Birmingham City director Sammy Yu is heading a consortium from Hong Kong and mainland China looking to buy Sheffield Wednesday. Yu was vice-chairman at City and the main football adviser, having been a professional footballer in Hong Kong.
BBC Radio Sheffield reports that Yu, who left Blues in September 2010, is in talks to purchase the club from current owner Milan Mandaric. Yu`s interest in the Owls follows recent reports that he had ended a bid to take over Birmingham City following six months of fruitless negotiations.

Ex-Portsmouth and Leicester chairman Mandaric took over in December 2010. He paid £1 for the club but had to clear £7 million of debts. Reports suggest that the price for Wednesday will be around £15m.
