Notes:

The club was founded in 1879 and turned professional in 1894. The club plays at the the County Ground, which has an all-seated capacity of 15,728. The club has been beset by financial difficulties throughout its history, having been placed into administration twice and also twice fought off winding-up orders from Her Majesty's Customs and Excise over unpaid tax-bills. A takeover bid by a Fans' Consortium was launched in December 2005.

Turnover and pre-tax profit figures are in millions.
